James V. Gasparine, MD CAQSM

Dr. James Gasparine joined the PrimeCare SEO team in March of 2022. Dr. Gasparine graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from West Virginia University graduating in the top quarter of his class. Dr. Gasparine completed his family medicine residency at the University of South Florida, where his concentration was on nutrition, weight loss and athletic performance. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at West Virginia University.

Dr. Gasparine is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. He is the head sports physician for Tri-Valley High School. His additional experience includes working in a medical tent for the 70.3 World Ironman and being a team physician for the arena football league team, Tampa Bay Storm. He has worked with division I collegiate athletes in various sports.

Dr. Gasparine is trained to treat and understand the specific needs and concerns of athletes. His main focus is safely returning the athlete to "get back in the game". Dr. Gasparine can customize a recovery plan that yields better results in a shorter amount of time.

Dr. Gasparine’s other areas of specialties include sports related concussions, sports injury prevention, osteoporosis and fracture care.

Dr. Gasparine is a member of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. His hobbies include golf, Jiu Jitsu and playing the piano. He and his wife have two children and are active members of North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville.
